Choosing a Carpet
The most prestigious carpets are hand-made, woven or tied, and arrive from the east, in ancient and beautiful samples. You will find exotic names such as Afghan, Kashgar, Persian, Bukharan, etc. The carpets are made from wool, or wool mixed with silk. There are also machine-woven carpets, made from wool or synthetic fibers, in classic oriental patterns, and in clean modern lines. Choosing a Carpet: The keyword is density. As the carpet is denser, it is more durable. The density of the knots is visible, and when you touch the carpet, you can feel its smoothness and flawlessness. In order to distinguish between a machine-made and a hand-made carpet, turn it upside down, see whether the pattern, the identifying mark of hand-made carpets, is visible. The more prestigious the carpet is, the easier it is to see its pattern from the back side. For children and baby rooms, the recommendation is synthetic carpets, durable against erosion and stains, and fire-proof.

Carpet Maintenance: Apart from using a vacuum-cleaner, it is recommended to brush the carpet occasionally with a hand-brush or straw-broomstick. It is possible to wash a carpet using a designated shampoo. Carpets can shed fibers, mostly during the primary period of use. This phenomenon disappears with time. The carpet should not be folded, to avoid the creation of folding marks. For storage, only roll the carpet.
